4 terminal starter solenoid

Hello.
A few questions in one please .
My 1969 P6 2000 SC auto's solenoid packed up last week. I replaced it with another from eBay, and the new one lasted all of one trip!
Is this a case of cheap Chinese rubbish or should I be looking for something else?
Also what is the difference between the four terminal solenoids and the others?
What does the extra starter wire do?
The car used to have a dynamo, but I changed that for an alternator many years ago If this helps.
Thanks in advance.
Keith.

I believe the extra set of terminals are to bypass the coil ballast resistor. It’ll provide a full 12v to the coil while the starter is engaged.
