4 Barrel Carb Fitment ( Talago) - Fuel

The Buick engine is now back from re-build and is about to go back into the Talago. We now have the problem of how to run the throttle cable to the carb, has anyone fitted a 4 barrel carb to a V8? How have you connected the throttle linkage? Is there a kit you can buy from anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.

I can't speak about the Buick engine in detail as I don't know enough about it, but if you are running a manual transmission, fit an auto kickdown throttle bracket, then modify a kickdown cable, using that to operate the carb.

Hi Ian

First off there must have been something there originally - do you have any reference photo's etc? I'm assuming this is the set up as fitted as a prototype?

The solution that is going onto both my cars with V8 and Weber 500 is to use the linkage from a 2200TC up to and including the translator bracket mounted on the steering idler, thence to a bespoke cable onward to the carb. I can imagine Rover would have been likely to have done something similar.

I don't believe there are any new stock 2200 TC bits left in the system, but Alan Ramsbottom has some he could sort out for you or you could locate a scrapper?

Regards

Chris
