Rix Engineering Escort Mk2 Electric Power Steering Conversion Kit Complete - Motorsport-Tools.com
very common conversion within the ford-guys.....or anything ford-based like kitcars...this said all those conversions are based on vauxhall corsa items and have been also adapted to many other...
i´m searching a steering wheel for my P6. if you have one from a 3500 PAS (power steering) model...let me know....all offers welcome, but only with picture.
tiny in terms of thickness of the rim, .not in terms of diameter ;)
i´m happy to have a PAS, but the more items are fitted, the more can go wrong....fingers crossed that my PAS will last forever without any major repairs.:D
for authenticity of my car: does anybody own a PAS wheel and might...
i prefer the tiny non PAS wheel....designwise it suits better, imo.
for the ET´s i´m also not sure if they still made them in 1975...anyway...the ET´s are considered to be have a higher value than the standard ones, so nice to have them.:)
thanks a lot for your help.
maybe the former owner wanted to "replicate" a bit the series1 look which was already done on the outside (S1 bonnet and S1 grille on S2 car)
evening all together,
can anybody tell me with which type of steering wheel and hearests a 1975 rover 3500S with PAS left the factory? possibly with pictures?
probem found....my car has the plastic /rubber acron type end on gear lever.....half of it was gone.
now the question is:
can i use a metal type acron, but WITHOUT plastic bush in selector rod eyelet, as i do not want to machine the eylet bigger for using te plastic bush?
it might be noisy...
indeed the u-joints are not expensive (2 x 26,-pound /pair for driveshafts, 17,-pound/pair for prop)....with labour in my local garage we end at 600,-€.....so lets try some penetrating oil first (as i havent seen any greasing points on the u-joints fitted t my car)......not really wanting to...
i recognized that i have a vibration from the drivetrain when driving more than 90mph. seems to come from the back or the prop-shaft. u-jpoints on prop and dirveshafts are play-free. any idea where to search?
by the way: tyres are new and well balanced....the vibration was already with the old...
retrofitting an expansion tank, using a flat cap on the rad does not make really give a big improvement (besides a few milliliter of additional cooling liquid in the circuit)
you need to fit the usual cap with spring-loaded valve, but the one with 2 gaskets. 1 seals on bottom, 1 seals on top...
The answer is quite easy the car needs to be operative under any circumstances.... The Garage where the car is stored cannot be used for spannering. And the space where I can do the repair can only be used temporary. This means once I start the repair I need the according spare part available...
but at least i do not need to tilt it as much, i guess....so maybe less parts to be disconnected.
anyway...i prefer the spare-remote way...so i can improve the remote by adding an extra guiding and in case something else would be damaged (like worn selector rod ) i would not get into...
that would be fine! so please figure out the transport costs.
what came up my mind:
has anybody tried to drill / cut inspection holes in the propshaft tunnel, in the area where the remote fixing bolts are located?
so I could remove the bolts from inside the car and remove the remote without...
any chance getting a 2nd hand remote somewhere? so i could refurb that in advance, as my time on the ramps would be limited and the car needs t be repaired as quick as possible.
as nobody touched clutch pedal height and its linkage and the problem gets worse the more milesd the car collects (and the more sloppy the gear-shift feels) i think foirst step will be removing centre console check spherical seat of shifter. than i need to figure out how to drop the gearbox. i...
instead of opening a new thread i want to use this for discribing my problem:
gear selection was never precise since i purchased the car...gearlever is a bit floppy, but not extreme. what i regonized is that selcting 1st and 3rd gets worse when engine has warmed up. its even so critical that...
