    1000 mile Series 2 P6 anybody...?!?!?!

Some years ago I bought a one registered owner, 1700 (seventeen hundred) mile, '72 Ford Consul V4 (Granada Mk.1 shape) which had been part of a collection of low-mileage cars. It looked fantastic, and had a genuine 'time warp' interior which even smelled new inside! Problem was that because of...

Buying a P6: What to look for?

Ah thanks, guys. This is exactly what I was looking for! The P6 buyer's guide is especially useful and many thanks for all that info, Pilkie. I really have no preference between a later TC and a V8, but I confess I do prefer round dials to the strip speedo on the SC. I shall be looking upon...

Buying a P6: What to look for?

After an abstinence of more than 20 years I'm now seriously thinking about getting myself another P6: I would be looking for one of the later cars, either a TC or possibly a V8. Is there a buyer's guide I can read-up on before setting out? Mechanical problems are not too much of a concern to...

    Trying to trace RUE570M, '74 3500S

Thanks guys :). chrisyork may have a point: that 'my' car may have since assumed the identity of a tax-free (pre-1973) P6 although in fact I don't believe any cars qualified for tax-free status back in 1992/3 when RUE570M apparently disappeared off the DVLA database? Equally, of course, it...

    "Avon Safety" alloys

I can remember seeing these Avon 'safety' wheels being advertised (new) in the motoring mags when I was a kid! Must have been 1973-74 I guess? On the subject of unusual wheels, I used to drive an ex-Police SD1 many years ago which wore an unusual set of Michelin alloys + tyres. The car...

    Trying to trace RUE570M, '74 3500S

Thanks for the replies. In fact (R)UE is a Warwickshire registration, Stina. This 3500S had just 1 recorded keeper and had covered only 43,000 miles when I bought it from a local motor dealer / collector in late 1991 - which makes it all the more curious that it had disappeared off the DVLA...

    Trying to trace RUE570M, '74 3500S

Hi Folks, My name is John and I'm new on here today. I have been trying to trace an almond 3500S which I owned over 20 years ago, RUE570M. In 1992 I sold it to a chap with a P6 restoration business in the Gloucester area, and I'm sure I have seen it around since then - albeit some years ago...
