    Good news , a conclusion to the problem, bought a filter with an anti drain valve and realised it is the sane as the one already on the engine. I started by taking the distributor out and used the drill method even after 10/15 minutes using a mains drill at full stretch ,it had no effect...

    Thanks for the advice ,thinking about using the distributor hole to turn the pump, but how is the oil pump and distributor normally driven ? I mean will it need the rest of the engine going to move ?

    3500S 1972 Has been running fine ,recent oil and filter change ,pressure ok after that Not started for two months ,and now no oil pressure and oil light staying on I have also taken oil filler cap off and no oil pumped up I will get an independent pressure guage to check but what other thoughts...

    Hi thanks for the replies, the pump is from Wadhams and they dont actually give a specification of it ,but say its suitable for front fitting,I will try a few things suggested.

    Recently acquired 1972 3500s it stopped a few times in traffic through lack of fuel, bubbles or no fuel in the filter ,which after extensive reading , I believe to be vapour lock ,as after 30 minutes when the car cooled down it started no problem.
