    rear brakes won't adjust up

I take it you mean the threaded section with 2 x 9/16th nuts half way along the under side of the car where the cable disappears into the outer sheathing and then on to the rear calipers and not, under the rubber gater at the front of the cable by the gearbox, where the cable disappears up onto...

    rear brakes won't adjust up

Thanks for that fellas, the quadrants are fully off, there isn't a problem with an over tight handbrake cable it is the complete opposite. I had disconnected the handbrake linkage and moved the offside quadrant by hand from stop to stop. This action did not move the piston out which I assumed...

    rear brakes won't adjust up

I've replaced all 4 discs, both front calipers, offside rear caliper and over hauled the nearside rear. I've bled the system 3 times by the usual method, and there is no more air coming out of the nipples. I've raised the car on a jack and confirmed that the front brakes work on both front...

    final drive removal

Still finding my way round the car I hadn't even realized I could do that. I've just had a look under the car and it seems relatively straight forward to do, I will also bear in mind what you said about the use of heat. Thanks yet again Harvey

    final drive removal

Im overhauling the rear brakes, all went well with the offside BUT the caliper assembly on the near side has seized. It won't swivel. I tried to free up and/or remove the pivot pin, but only managed to round off the nut on the O Ring end and I am in the process of rounding off the hex socket...

Pinion extension oil seal leak ????

Thanks again, as I'm overhauling the rear brakes at the moment I can't use the hand brake, so I'm having to rely on my home made jig which at the moment is bending under the strain, at least I know I'm turning the bolt the right way.

Buying rear brake discs and pads

I'm not sure that there is enough meat on them for a regrind, there is only just 8mm at the thickest point and less than that over the corroded sections, here's a picture

Pinion extension oil seal leak ????

Hi Harvey I wasn't expecting the bolt to be easy to undo with thread lock on it but can I just confirm that the thread will be a standard anti clockwise turn to undo it. I made a brace to hold the flange whilst trying to undo the bolt but this is just bending, maybe a pneumatic air...

Pinion extension oil seal leak ????

I've bought the new oil seal and was about to replace it, but having now read the procedure in the manual it says that I should replace the 2 stop washer O Rings at the same time, and that the spline needs coating with Loctite sealant grade AVV. Is it important to change these O Rings, or can I...

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Unfortunately it seems that these discs are in short supply at the moment so it appears that I will just have to wait

Pinion extension oil seal leak ????

Hi, I've got an oil leak at the point where the prop shaft and pinion extension case meet. I've attached a photo. The oil is splattering around the centre tunnel just above the cross member. I'm assuming that it is the pinion oil seal that is the problem. Assuming that I have identified...

    Replacing door seals

Hi, Im currently doing some minor rust and paint repairs and I have got to replace all four door seals that run around the door aperture. I have already ordered and recieved new seals from JR Wadhams and have two questions that hopefully somebody has answers to  1) The new seals are...

    Auto gearlever overhaul

Hi, The selector cable on my BW65 box needs adjusting as I cant access 'park'; but while I'm doing this I'm changing the nylon spherical bush at the bottom of the lever as the original one seems to be worn and the lever is sloppy. I purchased a new bush from JR Wadhams and upon removal of the...

    3500 Haynes manual

Hi, I hope someone can help. I already have the factory workshop manual and parts book but I'm trying to get my hands on a Haynes manual for the 3500/3500S. If anyone has an unwanted copy I would be very interested in buying it from you. Many thanks Rob
