Having bought a s1 interior for my s2 without bothering to read up first I find my inertia seat belts fit any more. I quite liked the static belts I had in my viva so not fussed about a retrograde! Has anyone got a set lying about?

Rad cap leaks on top seal. There is no rubber seal on the outer sealing surface just a metal spring steel washer. Both old ones I have are like that too. Water drips out from expansion tank when cold and is forced out of rad when hot. Has a rubber seal fallen off or do the rely on metal to...

The viva blew its coolant out of a hole in the rad and all over the windscreen once which was awkward at 60. I only put k-seal in it and it sealed and lasted another 4 years!

I've had some success K-seal in the Rover and the viva 2.3. Radweld is rubbish. My re-core / recon was £100 and the end tanks were in a right state. This was at PMA in Leicester. Don't know if they have other branches.

I hate stick on ones, they fall off.

Just to tag cheekily on this thread...I now have a (high comp) defender engine with a defender sender presumably. The temp is showing very low on the gauge although the heater is very warm! Do I change the sender to suit the gauge or leave it to suit the engine and somehow recalibrate the gauge? Dan

With reference to copper/brass being better metals when you get an older rad recored do they generally use ally or original materials? Never had one done on any car. The vivas just got patched for 8 years.

Obviously I've googled it and found this Marcos site http://marcossportscarenthusiasts.yuku.com/topic/6061#.UjhFQcYqh8E which lists a Rover P6 rad as an older fitment and a Nissan Skyline rad as a replacement for whatever the current standard fitment is. Is it a case of measuring up something...

Basically as the title says. Mine is in a right state - it's only the Kenlowe holding it together! Engines out at mo so don't mind messing around with brackets. Has anyone bothered finding something more modern that fits or is it always a recore job?

I had to machine some off the back face of the rear wheels to clear the arch - I forget how much though!
