The alternator on my 76 V8 has packed up (light on and erratic ammeter), I have acquired a reconditioned 18ACR alternator via Ebay but it doesn't have the extra connection. Will it work Ok? I have been led to believe I can tape up the extra wire and leave it disconnected but I am unconvinced.

They are. So good in fact that some tracks are on about banning them. They have already banned Montegos and most Saabs.

They will race anything now all the A60's and Triumph 2000's have been used up, especially if its something really rare and they can be the first to race one (which is very likely the case with the P6 estate, I dont know of another ever being raced).
