    Series 2 Front Seat

Wanted. Series 2 Flat Pleat Driver's seat (RHD) in good useable condition, preferably in Buckskin. I actually only need the cushion (base) but would obviously take the full seat if available. I'm in Leicester, so Midlands preferred. Thanks.

Brake Fluid Reservoir Cap - Series 2

Yes, the Series 2 Girling cap. But as per Vern's comment, the one your link points to wouldn't be suitable, I'm afraid.

Brake Fluid Reservoir Cap - Series 2

As per title, would anyone have a good used cap to sell please? Mine has split around the top of the thread. Thanks, Stan

    Non Rover!

Anyone in Cardiff close enough to buy one of these please, and stick it in an envelope? FUHR INFRONT KEEP (KICK PEDAL) (FIFKPKEEP) – LockStocker – King Solutions Can't believe the shysters want twelve quid to post it to me in Leicester. Which, of course, I'm not up for. Cheers, Stan

    Door Locking Buttons

Hi, Would anyone have 4 interior door lock buttons they could let me have for beer tokens please? Maybe somebody breaking a P6? Mine are damaged. The ones I'm replacing are 2" long......I seem to remember seeing shorter versions back in the dim and distant. Thanks, Stan

    Battery Drain

UPDATE: Thanks for this, Graeme. It is indeed the stereo that's causing the issue. When I unplug it the current drain at the battery drops to 2 to 3 mA. :) Stan

    Battery Drain

Thanks. It's an integral regulator on the ACRs and, as Colin suggested above, I've unplugged the alternator but the draw's still there.

    Battery Drain

Thanks mate, The stereo dates from 2008 when I put it in from new, I'll pull it and see what effect that has on the drain. Stan

    Battery Drain

Thanks Graeme, I'm far from au fait with all the technicalities :), but I did think the existing battery going completely flat may have knackered it, so I put a brand new one in. At the moment I'm pulling #1 fuse while the car's stationary, and the voltage is still holding steady around 12.7V...

    Battery Drain

Basically what I listed on my original post, mate. Agree, 40mA is not a lot.......but it seems to be enough if the car's not in use for a couple of days or more. :)

    Battery Drain

Yes, that's basically what I did to find the source of the drain although I always disconnect the negative to avoid the possibiilty of a short to the body. The parasitic draw is 40mA across fuse #1. Stan

    Battery Drain

Just the stereo head unit which is ignition controlled. Hmm...but, from memory, I think there's a permanent live connection as well.

    Battery Drain

Alternator disconnected but still the same current across the fuseway, sadly.

    Battery Drain

Having been away for a couple of weeks, I came home and went to start Occie, my Series 2 3500S, only to find the battery was completely dead. No voltage reading at all on the multimeter. Managed, to my surprise, to get it back to seemingly fully charged using the CTEK charger in Recondition...

Electric fuel pump for rover 3500S

That's the one I used, and it works really well. I sited it next to the washer bottle and ran the new fuel line under the wing. Don't forget to fit an inertia switch for safety.

    Series 1 clock

Thanks, Phil. By coincidence I came across a non-working Series 1 clock in the garage (when I was looking for something else :)), so I might have a delve into it for interest.

How does the bezel come off, Phil? Is it just a push/force fit on the can?

    Supporting car on Block paving

Maybe it depends on the wheel diameter...... A titchy Halfords special might certainly struggle, but a beefy 3-tonner from a reputable company works just fine. Maybe that's why I have no problems at all on 60mm blocks.

    Supporting car on Block paving

I wouldn't be using steel plates, Pat, as steel on steel can slide. If you want to spread the load, use wood. I usually put axle stands on 1" thick wood, and a short length of 1.1/2" - 2" square section between the underbody and the top of the stand. Re the trolley jack, providing you're not...

    The View From The Windscreen

In May 2018, a mate & I gave Occie's new 3.9 engine a shakedown on a 2-week, 1750 mile tour through Scotland. Many absolutely stunning driving roads, the best of them being the Bealach Na Ba (Pass of the Cattle) which is an old single-track drovers' road built in 1822. The Bealach rises from...

    Suspension Failure

Whatever works for you, Ron! I only mentioned plain nuts because I mentioned spring washers. And it would be very unusual to use spring washers with Nylocs.
