    Door Rubbers

I have just had to replace some of the channel on the driver's door as there was some serious corrosion in places. Got 6 x 24" channel lengths from Wins at £6 ea. To bend them I used a Dremel with a small cutting disc. I cut grooves to bend the channel into shape. Worked great. Job done...

    Door Rubbers

Hi Steve. A couple of photos of my seal tool that may help you. I am now going to have fun as I have to remove the seal on the driver's door to get a profile of the bends in the channel so I can fabricate the bends on the new channel. All the best. Steve

    Door Rubbers

Make the tool yourself, Steve. I used a piece of 13mm x 2mm x 8" long stainless steel tubing and m6 x 13mm stainless steel washer for the 'wheel'. I drilled through the tubing and cut a slot wide enough and deep enough to take the washer so it will 'roll' and used a blind river to attach the...

    Door Rubbers

Hi Steve I have literally just replaced all 4 door seals on my 1972 2000SC. I have made a tool to fit the rubbers into the channels. I used Red Rubber Grease to aid insertion. Made a lot of difference. Took me about an hour to do all 4. I am going to have to take the drivers door seal off...

Hi Harvey. As you may have seen I have put this query on FB this morning. By reading your reply today, I was reminded of the lock bolt. I will have a look at that this week. Thanks again, Harvey.

    Pre-engaged starter motor wiring.

I have a few hundred photos of work done since 2016. Spent 17/18 months just cutting rust out and welding new plate in. It truly is a labour of love!! The floor and chassis of the car was virtually non existent. Minstrel spent 2 years parked on the kerb of a urban road. Had more water under the...

    Pre-engaged starter motor wiring.

My wife Ann only paid £375 for the car! The guy just wanted the money back he had spent 5 new tyres. The pics dated 02-03-2016 were taken the day I brought Minstrel home. The first 3 are what the front of Minstrel looks like now. The ones dated 30th April were taken 2020 after I had sprayed the...

    Pre-engaged starter motor wiring.

When my wife bought him for me she named him Minstrel as he is Black & White. Lol. I like the series Life On Mars but the Mrs didn't. Lol. I had some good times as a teenager in the early 70s. Also owned 2 P5's in 1973 too. I had a taxi firm. I had both the 3.5 Coupe and 3.5 Saloon. Even to this...

    Pre-engaged starter motor wiring.

Good to hear, Dave. Can be a pain when you think you've fixed something only fort something to do with it goes wrong. Lol. Now just got to get my starter motor sorted and hopefully get Minstrel back on the road.

    Pre-engaged starter motor wiring.

Morning. Yes. If you look at the photos you can see where two wires had melded together causing a short. I think they had been like it before I got the car. There was also some badly repaired wiring I had to replace as well. Have not had any problem with it since I repaired it........touch...
