Thanks chaps, Sounds like it may not be the disaster I thought it may be. Guy, I'll contact Scotts and see what I can come up with. I also have a first-class mechanic who loves the car if I run in to trouble! Thanks agian, Rick

Hello chaps, Something that is in the process of happening..and I 'd like to get sorted before something really goes wrong. I think it's merely a case of wear, but... The selector stick on my 72 3500 is getting very sloppy indeed. You can waggle it form side to side. It still selects gears ok...

UK Companies are useless!! - Well some of them anyway

Hi Ian, Thanks for your offer of help. Unfortunately this is probably the wrong part of the forum to answer you as it was an indicator arm!! It was the topic that caught my eye!! However....My arm is/was just about worn out (it can happen!) but I think I've found a fix....2 part epoxy...

How smooth should an autobox from 1971 be??

My experience with my 72 is that if you get harsh changes when selecting a gear from neutral, it can be very bad for the diff. Some years ago one of my halfshafts was literally twisted off...I put it down to harsh shifting. The auto trans repair place did not want to fit a longer down-shift...
