    Rover P5 or P6 heads

Hi all, I am selling a pair of P5 or P6 V8 cylinder heads that were removed from my engine. They are in really good condition as far as I can tell. Check out my ebay sale. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130857504028? ... 1586.l2649 regards paul

    P5 or P6 head rework

All, The heads I am proposing to use are casting number ERC0216. They came from a range rover Efi. I can see what you mean by the shrouding. I am using them as I was told the bigger inlets would let the engine breath better. I still have the original smaller valve heads.

    Rocker shaft orientation

HarveyP6, It all makes sense now thank you. The shafts were assembled incorrectly but now they are as they should be. I am off to Real Steel this morning to buy some more parts. Slowly but surely the engine is getting back together. It is amazing how the failure of a £10 component can cause...

    Rocker shaft orientation

Hi Harvey, Thank you for the reply. I agree but one of my shafts is line-less another quick question. When people say the left hand side or the right hand side is that standing in front of the engine ie at the front of the car. Or is it as if I was sitting in the car.

Hi All. I am new to this forum but already I have found a good deal of useful information and advice. Brilliant job. I am currently rebuilding an RV8 engine that is of unknown provinence. It is an early engine in 3.5 format with rope oil seals. The engine number does not exist any where it...

    Rocker shaft orientation

Hi all. Early RV8 rebuild. I wondered if I might ask a question about the rocker shafts and their orientation relative to the rockers. I have two rocker shaft assemblies that are in bits. I pulled them off the heads about 3 months ago and have now go round to cleaning them up and I think they...

    P5 or P6 head rework

All, Thank you for the advice gents. Started to clean up the SD1 heads last night and they look to be in good shape. It is a messy job but the results are looking good. They won't need skimming but they will get new valves and springs.I will fit tin gaskets as suggested so that I don't have...

    Odd engine number

For the curious amongst you all, I have an early RV8 in a Triumph Stag. It is much nicer than the Triumph V8 as far as I am concerned. Lighter, more powerful and easier to work on.I have tried to workout where this particular engine is from without success. The engine number is 56822635C and it...

    P5 or P6 head rework

Hi all again. Just for completion the engine number is 56822635C and it is stamped on the bell housing rather than the side under the head. The comp ratio is stamped next to the engine number. I will rebuild the SD1 heads with their bigger valves.

    P5 or P6 head rework

Hi All, I am new to this forum but hope you will be able to advise me on a best course of action. I have an old RV8 P5 or P6 engine and I have rebuild the block. I was really lucky and it needed little work. A polish, hone and rings/bearings. I could quote you the engine number but it just does...
