    Rover 75 Replacement seats

I am considering replacing my old tatty leather seats in my S2 V8 and have seen posts about converting to the modern Rover 75 seats. I was wondering how easy this conversion would be, I.e. are the front seat mounting points similar etc. Any advice would be much appreciated. Glen

Borg Warner 65 tapping / ticking sound

Remove the starter and look at the drive plate for tell tale rust streaks or cracks. These can crack or give way altogether. Glen

Restoration Startup Transmission Whine (or not)

Loved the old LN's MK 1 & 2. Did my apprenticeship on those. When the pumps went, the droning noise & vibration was horrendous accompanied by frothy strawberry milkshake pouring from the reservoir. Happy days!!

    Broken cylinder head bolt ☹

I have dealt with a similar occurrence years ago. I took a plain steel washer with an I.D slightly smaller than the bolt, then placed it centrally over the snapped bolt. I then plug welded the bolt to the washer, taking care to avoid the block surfaces. Then I welded a 13mm nut to the washer...

Auto: prompt deceleration when off the gas

Hi. Apologies for hijacking this thread, but my V8 auto BW 35 does not return to idle when releasing the accelerator whilst cruising, it just stays at normal cruising revs. Is this abnormal? Thank you Glen

    Non-flashing Beam Flash

Hi. On my S2 V8, the inner main beams are on a separate fuse to the outer main beams so that may be worth a try. Not sure if the S1 is the same though. Glen

    Steering Wheel Removal

Just a thought.... check that the hazard switch is pushed fully home as I got caught out with non working indicators. The hazard switch knob was screwed too far on preventing the switch from returning fully. Glen.

    Hub Reassembly

What I do when setting up hub bearings with taper rollers is assemble with new oil seal, grease bearings and assemble, fit the road wheel, lightly tighten the hub nut to around 18 Lb/ft whilst spinning the wheel to settle the bearings and grease. Back the nut off until you can just about feel a...

    suddenly a rough running engine

I had this last week running on 4 cyl and it was cured by a light tap with a screwdriver handle to my NS carb float chamber. I assume that my float needle had stuck closed. Ran like a dream after that. Glen.

Securon Inertia Reel Rear Seat Belts - what am I missing?

That mounting method would not be adequate in the event of a moderate collision and would not pass MOT requirements. I would strongly advise that it is secured directly straight through the parcel shelf with spreader plate underneath.

    Jerks after strong accelerate

Hi Could be sticking pistons in the carbs, a low fuel float level or low fuel pump pressure. Worth checking.
