    bottom front link strut

Hi Dave, the link was just right, near-side for the V8. As you say this part is almost impossible to find--I couldn`t believe my luck. As a potential MOT failure for all P6`s, it becomes a bit worrying that the dwindling supply cannot meet demand. Allan.

    bottom front link strut

Couldn`t believe my luck, 1 part as described on Ebay NOS, promptly purchased. I do think though, this is a part almost impossible to find and maybe we should be looking at ways and means of producing / modifying the link. The main problem is obviously overcoming the worn ball joint. So lets put...

    P5B SUMP

Hi Ron, for the sake of "originality" I would prefer the original oval canister , but I`m sure subtle mods could be expedited. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Allan.

Hi Ron, sump sourced and fitted (drilled and tapped for windage tray). Another technical question- I`ve now got rebuilt HIF6 carbs. Which needles are best to start out with ? Thanks, Allan.

    P5B SUMP

Thanks for the offer but I`ve got the part I didn`t know was called a windage tray,(what a funny name). Yes looks like the drill and taps are required. Thanks again-- a very friendly forum.

    P5B SUMP

Ron, thanks for the info. I now have my P5B sump with oil pick-up and strainer. The next question is-- the P5 has a separate baffle plate screwed to the lower crankcase. Later sumps have integral baffles in the sump pan. Do you have to drill and tap the block to take the separate baffle plate ...

    P5B SUMP

Thanks Ron , I knew the sump needs a bit of "tin bashing", but I can`t get hold of one to bash.

    P5B SUMP

I`m currently building a 4.6 engine for my p5b and having difficulty finding a p5b sump. Does anyone know if it`s the same as the p6b ? If so, is anyone out there selling one?

Hi again , and thanks for the welcoming posts. I am currently working on the 4.6 engine , but it`s only recently been purchased and I`ve as yet to get the heads off to hopefully find no slipped liners. I do think though , I will probably have top hat liners fitted for peace of mind. The P5B...
