Fuel specs...

This is quite interesting Rich. After looking at the Tesco site, I needed to remind myself as to difference between RON & MON. I found this Wiki page that gives RON/MONs for petrol: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating#section_3

According to the Wiki examples, 98RON Shell V-power, is 89-90MON whereas the Tesco Momentum 99RON is only 87MON.

I guess it depends which octane rating you have more faith in but it does make me think that there is more to fuel octane ratings than the RON value you see at the pump. It would be good to see spec's for all UK fuels so we could learn more and make a more informed choice?

For now, I am confused - is Shell 98RON a higher octane fuel than Tesco 99RON??

information is power i guess. They dont normally make this information available without some serious digging.

:) Agreed. Though, as I get a little older, I sometimes wonder if I've already had too much information.

Rich according to your Fuelly that new Prius of yours isn't doing many MPG, 18 less than your V8 at the moment
