I thought I’d introduce my ‘new’ P6B on the forums here.

I took delivery of it last week. Already owning a classic, I certainly didn’t need another, so it all felt a bit like it wasn’t happening until the car arrived!

Having now had the opportunity to look over it in even closer detail and enjoy a very nice drive, I really think I got exceptionally lucky with this car. I have all the MOT certificates and service history dating back to the 1970s, so can confirm the mileage of 82,000 is totally genuine. It’s also an extremely original car, never being the subject of any restoration, but just regularly used and owned by enthusiasts since at least the early 1990s. Original cars in this condition must be pretty rare.

I’m hoping to get to a good few shows next year, and I have a feeling this car will be staying with me for quite a while!

Thank you for all your kind words! I must say, the clean engine bay is probably what made this car the one to have, although the only problem now is I have to keep it that way! :D

nice tidy car with decent engine bay too. though I can never understand why when they respray engine bay its always the gloss black rather than original silk black! each to own I guess.

Wow, so clean with just the right patina. Completely original paint? Amazing. This is the type of car that's a bargain at any price.

All original paint and wear, aside from a refresh of the engine bay of course. It was certainly quite a bit more expensive than I was prepared to spend, but like you say, I really do still feel I got a bargain! A lovely original well-maintained 1970s car was always my dream, so I thought it was time to make this dream come true :D

People moan about prices sometimes but it only takes one or two issues you need to pay to sort out and you may as well have bought a better car. Plus in your case that originality can't be faked.
