Wrong distributer?

am installing a Petronix electronic ignition to my distributer.When i looked at it I noticed that it wasnt the standard Lucas 35 D8 but a rather odd looking Autofire D235 Distributer I just bought the car a Rover P6 3500S in Canada.Should I change it to the correct one ?

Compression ratio and engine no can lead you to the correct Lucas part, BUT if the current unit is well behaved, car goes well, why would you change it? I have seen a Bosch electronic dizzie in a 3500 10.5:1 CR car. Will Lucas parts (eg points, vacuum unit, rotor etc) fit?
