Good day , using this old thread.
I am not sure how to remove the green plastic knob for the wiper switch. I dont want to destroy it !!
Can anyone offer advise ? The manual suggests that you depress a possible detent type button through the small hole at the bottom but .........

That's right. Use a cocktail stick-sized implement & push up the small spring-loaded button while you pull it off. It may be a little stiff but give it a wiggle & you'll be fine.
