Windscreen replacement

I've had to remove my old windscreen due to a bad crack and am about to re-fit a new one. Before I start though I thought I would ask if it is best to fit the main seal onto the screen first, or rather fit the seal into the body channel and then the screen into that, I've searched the forum and can't find anything relating to this ?

Also, if there are any tips / tricks that would help, thanks in advance

Yes - put the seal on the screen first, then slip the screen & seal in at the top of the frame & work from there.
Make sure the lower few inches of the square section of the seal at each side locate fully in the channel otherwise you may get a whistling air gap.
Apart from that, it’s ok. You really need 2 people to do it.

Our trick was to drive without one!

However, the mud splats got inside the car......... So we did replace it.

I can't remember what order we fitted things. I'd say we fitted the rubber strip to the body and then inserted the glass.

A proud looking Tim.

I hope these photos help in some way.
