Which Coolant ?

Hi. Can anyone tell me which coolant to use in a '65 2000sc p6? After doing quite a bit of searching it seems the blue antifreeze is recommended. Is that the right one?
Thanks

The blue is what I've always used. It ought to be changed every couple of years as the corrosion inhibitors get used up.

I added half litre of orange OAT based by mistake!
Quickly realised error by the strange noises. Managed to drain ( almost) all the fluid including the drain tap. First attempt to flush the rest only partial success as thermostat was closed. Car had hard start issues so unable to get running.

Several escapades later - car is running again. Replaced the battery + coil to fix reluctant start symptom.
Aware that mixing blue + orange is very bad and can turn to jelly. Hoping to avoid total engine strip down ( at least until hottest part of the year)

WHAT NEXT?
planning to run until warm so thermostat is open. Then use garden hose to flush entire system.
Does the engine need to be running to get water right through the engine?
Once thermostat is open can I force water into the hose removed from bottom radiator?

I think you’ll be fine. Run up to temp with water in the system. Let it cool down (you don’t want to crack the block with adding cold water to a hot engine).

When cooled flush again then add the correct coolant. That should be good by then. Any OAT coolant left will be so diluted as to not be a problem.

Thank you. Hoping Sunday will be free of *distractions so I can get system flushed again.

*selling another car, so might have space for one more :D

did away with anti freeze /coolant stuff and switched to Evans waterless coolant. not cheap as initially you have to use a water absorbing fluid in engine and rad before using the waterless liquid . however it is used in racing cars and others such as Aston Martin. it has better heat abilities and is non corrosive and can be left in car for decades! so if we keep car long term pays for itself . check out Evans waterless coolant for self .
