Where should these rubber blocks go?

Hi, I plan to install the windscreen on friday. When I unpacked the brackets these 2 rubber blocks (appr 2x1x1 cm) was together with them and I had written "place one on each side" . It was hard to read after 25 years in storage. I have an idea that they are for keeping the correct distance for the screen but don know for sure and I have not found any mentioning about it in the workshop manual. Do anyone know if they are necessary and if so where to put the ? Another question : You can the the foam seal just above the channel in the Picture. This foam seal I have glued all the way for the windscreen, but for the rear screen, there is only a piece appr. the same length as the metal channel. Is this correct? That way there will be some extra air escaping at the rear.

The rubber blocks are the spacers that determine the correct distance between the windscreen and the bulkhead; in other words the lower part of the screen will have to rest on them, instead of just the foam. You will have to put them at approximately where (widthwise) the two jacks are, and they should be horizontal.

Thank you for that Demetris. Shall the spacers sit directly under the glass or under the metal channel?

Barten, the spacers should be directly under the glass, the metal channel will be rather lower. Ideally you should glue them to the bulkhead, in order to avoid them being dislocated as you will be jacking up the windscreen.
