hi there,
I want to change the oil in the diff on my pb6 auto and wonder if standard ep 90/140 or similar is suitable , and how much is needed?
Peter

Handbook states 90EP for -10C to + 32C and mentions Esso GX90-140 as one suitable & approx. 1.25 Litre, fill to bottom of filler plug hole

thank you rover480 for the information, now the job will be done when this 40+ deg C weather is over, my shed is 46 at the moment, I need air con in the shed (pipe dream) :(
I asked because cars of yesteryear had metals used that would not be compatible with modern oils, especially cars of the 30's and 40's, but not knowing about classic 70's cars , though that I should ask...
cheers
Peter

Yellow metal on brass synchros will get broken down by GL5. GL5 is fine for a differential. 80W90 is a modern equivalent for EP90. I have topped off with 90W-140 as well. Probably best to stick with mineral gear oils. The seals might not be compatible with synthetic gear oils.
