Picked up a new waterpump and fitted it today, other pump was leaking on and off so time to change.
Out with the radiator, removed fan belt

their is the little bugger, all the bolts came out easily

Now I had a high volume pump fitted but could not source one so put in a standard one and will see if the high volume one can be repaired. Here is a pic of the two for comparison

Pump fitted and torqued up, just have to put hoses back on radiator and fan belt etc, refill with antifreeze.

Took out for a quick spin and all seems ok

Quick work! I don't think you'll get any problems.

Guess you might even get a marginal MPG improvement.

Inspired by you lot, it's reassuring to know if I need advice it's here, so with that in mind it an engine rebuild next.

Hello Mick,

That look pretty good... :)

You might find that the new pump is actually better than the old as the clearance between the impeller and the pump body is much closer leading to more efficient coolant flow. The general rule is that a pump will lose approx 1% of its capacity for each 0.001" (one thousandth of an inch) greater than the maximum clearance that is required between the impeller and the pump housing.
