Water ingress.

Hi folks.I have slight water ingress into my boot in the left corner. It trickles down the left wheel arch under the petrol filler. I thought it was the rear decker seal which isn’t the best but I cannot work out why the water could get in the boot when it has channels at the sides to run away.Is the petrol filler rubber another possibility.Any advice appreciated.
Regards
Tony.

the decker seal doesnt actually keep water out, just slows its ingress down. it could be the filler neck, it could be coming in where the decker panel is bolted down, but more likely if you remove the panel you will find rust holes at the base of the rear screen pillars

Hi, Also check the forward decker panel support studs where they go through the base unit in front of the hinge support box section.

Rover? Rust? Surely not!!

Thanks everyone.Good thing about lockdown is that you have more time for your cars and do the silly jobs which are quite important really.I have listened to your advice checked the fuel seal.Thankfully no water.Poured some water over where the end of the decker rubber meets the screen rubber and went inside the boot.Right in the back left hand corner was a tiny trickle of water and signs of someone else having had a go at repair.I have fired a load of rubber sealant where the leak was.Fingers crossed I will test it sets and see what happens. In reply to the rust comment NEVER.

Kind regards
Tony.
