Washer motor - How to fix?

With winter approaching thought I would test the electrics only to find no water coming from the washers. The motor is fine but does not seem to be churning the fluid out.
The splindle that turns the little propellor inside the cap could be sticking but have heard you need to prime the top to get it pumping.
Anyone had a similar problem - was working fine when last used some months ago.......... ???
 
i had same problem, mine had stood for years. motor still worked but no water. i started with the washers and worked my back to the motor,the filter on the pipe into the water was blocked.and the pipe feed from the motor to the washers, which is the one on the bottle lid [motor],also blocked. after a thorough clean they worked fine
 
On mine the spindle came away from the propellor, I believe this is quite common, I had to replace the pump with a new one.
