Vinyl roof

Does anyone know if a vinyl roof was an option on the 4cyl in 1976? I think fitting one could be a more cost effective way of fixing the poor paintwork on my roof than getting it professionally resprayed.

Cheers,

Tom

I have a feeling that as a vinyl roof was std on the S2 3500s it was an option on the other models!
You should be able to buy all the stuff you need to cover the roof in vinyl for about £60ish.
It can be done in situ, but you wont be able to tuck it under as the originals were!
And as long as its black you wont have a problem getting a pattern match to the 1/4 panels,or just buy enough to redo them as well,so its all as new!!

AFAIK they were standard on all 3500S', later V8's (roughly 65 box onwards) but not on any of the others.

I think Tom wanted to know if the vinyl roof was an official option on a 1976 2200 that a buyer could specify?

Again, I have tried to find some pictures of 76/77 2200SC/TCs as evidence but surprisingly I can't find anything. My '75 2200TC has a vinyl roof but I have no way of knowing if this is an original feature.

Those other models being the 2000,2200's and 3500 auto.!
The options list I have is dated 1971,and at that time the vinyl roof wasnt on cars even as std,or as an option!
