V8 Inlet Manifold and SU Carbs

Hello,

I was given this by a chap in a garage who had no use for it and I said I could probably find someone that would appreciate it so I am trying here. If not, eBay it is :)

Unlikely to be from a Rover P6. Looks like it has been sitting for a while so make the assumption that the carbs need a full rebuild. One of the dash pot tops does not screw down, I haven't looked at it much but it's probably just the plastic thread has been cross threaded rather than an issue with the pot. Mechanisms are free if a little stiff and squeaky!

Collection is from Corby Glen, Lincolnshire. Free to anyone who will put it to good use and hopfully not just sell it on!

It's early as it has the bypass in the thermostat housing.

It isn't that early. Those are HIF44 carbs, and it has a rear vac takeoff and SD1 throttle cable bracket and return spring arrangement. It doesn't have the 2 bolt holes for a kickdown bracket so I'd guess at a late manual SD1 or Land Rover if they ever had HIF carbs. It has an Otter switch, and that thermostat housing isn't P5B/P6B.

Hi, I would agree with Harvey, because of the high 'tunnel' the thermostat housing is part of I would say it's Land/Range Rover where bonnet clearance was not such an issue.
