V8 Engine Replacement - Fitting Srs1 V8 into Srs2 P6 Auto

Please can anyone advise if it is possible to mate the V8 Engine from a Series 1 Auto (BW35 Box) to the BW65 Gearbox fitted to my 1975 3500 Auto. The original engine for the Series 2 car is beyond economical repair and as I have a spare Series 1 V8 Engine (Removed from my old 1969 V8 Auto), I would like to use this but still retain the later BW65 Box.

hi mick,
yes it is a straight swap over, the engine will mount straight up to the 35 gearbox. don't forget to swap over the oil pressure switches from your engine to the new one (next to your oil pump / filter) as the series one engine does not have it on (no oil pressure gauge inside the series one dashboard) and take off the old oil pipe feeds from the gear box to the radiator and use yours that are in your car as they are different. use your alternator and bracket as that will be different. that's it, good look.
