Today's the day

Thanks Marcus! Added a new bit on the member's projects post. Just the rear end and brakes to fit, bleed the system and I think I'll be on the road! This weekend took longer than expected to get things done, but I'm happy with the results so far.

She seems to attract a fair amount of attention already. That may take some getting used to.
:)

You will eventually get used to it. Nowadays it's only when I have a passenger that I am reminded how much attention my Rovers get from pedestrians and other road users.

I have a feeling the missus will notice more than me :) .

In other important news we have settled on a name for the car. She shall now be referred to as as 'Beryl". Kim came up with the name (previsously mentioned missus). Apparently Beryl isn't just a girl's name but also a semi precious light blue stone. Rather fitting considering she's Zircon Blue.

I'm constantly amazed at how many P6s seem to survive Stateside. Looks really nice. Word of warning: be wary of Almond owners praising your non-Almond car's colour. It's almost always a backhanded compliment.

Thanks for the warning! :) I did have an encounter with a saffron SD1 owner last year who tried to convince me it was the colour of the future.

Nothing yells "Saturday Night Fever" quite like a Saffron SD1 with a flux capacitor in the back. Was he playing Donna Summer on the 8-track?

If he'd been in a '68 V8 he'd have had winkle-pickers poking out of the bottom of those too-tight stovepipes, and been screeching like Percy Plant.

Thanks Fischer, we are lucky in where we live. It's a nice part of New Jersey outside of New York City. I'm very happy with the car. Hopefully I will be able to get it rolling by the end of the week.
