Tips for door adjustment

What has likely happened is the little plastic bushings in the hinges have worn enough that the door sags just a hair, hence the wear on the striker. Once the door is closed, it's lifted by the striker to the proper alignment. Adjust the striker ( just loosen the three screws (#3 Pozi) a little bit and close the door to realign the striker to the door latch, then tighten them again. If the widow frames now look askew a bit, that points to hinge wear. In which case you have to adjust the front hinges and it's starting to turn into more than an hour & a couple of beers job.

Thanks Vern, big help. The plastic bushings in the hinges - not shown in my parts book ?

Yes but you will have a warm fuzzy glow knowing that you are a much needed heritage parts supplier to the P6 community worldwide:thumb:

When I did a more careful check (on the pass door) I found the anti-burst male part was catching on its receiver on the forward face, so I packed the receiver fwd a touch, and all feels as it should now. Excellent. Drivers door next to see if issue is the same.
thanks
