Throttle linkage

Can anyone suggest the best idea for linkage for edelbrock on a p6b? Someone had an idea on this car but I am unable to really understand what was intended

It looks like there are two kickdown cables going down, check which one is not connected at the gearbox and discard.

Only one cable is connected at the gear box which has the rod with ball joints on, the other cable is a throttle cable which came with the kit looks like, but I have no cables connected to the throttle pedal

You’ll most likely have to fabricate something to connect the cable to the pedal. The factory approach was a series of rods and joints.

See if you can find a ‘see saw’ from a 2200TC (if there’s room in the 3500 engine bay).

This was my solution for my lhd 2000TC.

That wouldn't solve the problem of connecting the kickdown cable. You have the cable on the carb lever one end, that just needs connecting to the pedal the other end. You just need to make a connection to bottom of the carb lever back to the kickdown cable, using the rod with the rose joint back to a bell crank pivoted at the back of the manifold and connected to the kickdown cable.

Where does the rear breather hose on the back of the carb go to on the picture above? Also is that the only cable you have attached to the throttle?

If you look careefully at quatro's picture the firther side breather is used as an inlet with the nearest breather connected to the carb inlet. He has discussed the arrangement at leangth in the not too distant past. An alternative is to terminate them both to the underside of the air cleaner fitting on the outside of the element (to keep the crap out of the engine) if possible. Thats the way the companies that use downdraft carbs normally do it.

As Mike says, the rear hose goes to the brake servo.

The connection on the nearside rocker cover is actually a PCV valve.

I made my own linkage. Cost about £20.
This looks spot on! I am hoping to do the same for my 74 P6 using the Weber/Edelbrock conversion kit from Webcon.
What lengths are two adjustable throttle rods please ?
Do you have the dimensions for the bracket bolted to the manifold & the right angle linkage you made please ?
Did you use an insert on the hole for the linkage (on the bracket) , I can see a brass washer but wasn't sure if it's an insert.
Once running & up to temp, what timing degree was the best for it ?
Sorry to ask all these questions but it'll be really helpful for when I come to do my conversion. I see the Otter switch is not used either on the manifold.
Many thanks indeed, ! Damian

Damien, thanks for the praise. I think it's better if I gave you answers to your questions in a different way other than on here as it maybe easier to explain possible via phone/video?

I still have enough material here to male this "kit" again. It was rather simple and very effective. Let me know by PM.
