The View From The Windscreen

I've done a fair bit of work in the past on online image creation, and pdf creation systems, creating pdf's from scratch on the fly, and where people can apply their own graphic and text over existing pre-created templates etc. that sort of thing.

This means I should be able to knock up a system to produce a pdf calendar ready to print from any selection of images, either uploaded or linked from the web. The only issue is the quality of images available online, and the fact that you would have to print it yourself.

Also should be able to create a forum badge that would automatically have your username on it, and potentially other stuff like your real name if you want. Print and place in your windscreen.

I remember one forum member kindly created forum badges a few years back.

I'll see what I can do.

I had a run out to the Peak District in HOT my '67 2000TC yesterday and I snapped a few shots on the way home.

Wipers on.

Great idea the calendar, what about a window sticker for the CRF.
 :?: CRF window sticker would be good. I would be willing to pay a few quid for one. Calendar idea good as well. What would be the rules? Would the picture need to include a bit of Rover bonnet to prove it was taken from a Rover? :p

I think the the Rover bits and bobs as seen thru the window would be fairly mandatory whether bonnet, side glass or rear.

I agree. I think the bonnet or boot view would be the best, as you can see the colour of the bodywork.
By having a caption underneath (something like, for example "Whatsitsname Crag, Peak District, England. By Testrider from his 1967 Arden Green 2000 TC") we could try to represent as many P6 colours, models, countries and owners as possible.

Moelfre.jpg

Moelfre, Anglesey, North Wales. Headland in front is the Great Orme.
(Grabbed from a video, so not great quality. I was testing out a Brinno TLC100 timelapse camera which I left propped on the dash for an hour while I went for a walk. This was the most exciting frame.)

On the subject of a forum badge, Their is a thread somewhere because we copied it and what was done was taking the header from the forum and inserting " HAPPY DAYS" into it and putting it in the front and rear windows as a way of letting people know about the forum and other forum users knowing who you are.

I hope that gull didn't leave any little presents on your bonnet Willy :D .

On the subject of CRF banner with username, I quite like that idea too.

I did this with Paint Shop Pro...

...and pasted it into a Word document along with pics of Occie and a Rover badge, then laminated the page and leave it on the dash (or at the back of the engine) at shows/meets.

If anyone wants one the header with their forum name, PM me an email address.

River's plenty full here in York. There's a drought on apparently.

only thing that's missing is the actual 'www.classicroverforum.com' ? I know its obvious to computer users, but to people who dont use it much it's perhaps worth cramming it in somewhere???

I Like the design.

I booked one of their river cruise boats for my wife's birthday party last Saturday night. I was panicking a little last weekend because of the height of the river, but it all turned out fine and a good time was had by all.
