Needs some work, trying to figure out weather it is almond or turmeric, from new it was almond but hoping its not been re-painted in a different shade.

I will be doing all the bodywork and helping with mechanical, I am Dan, 18 and I restore minis, Currently own 3 and a half (trailer project).. My dads Steve an we live in teesside..

Will start a project log soon as we get into it..

Thanks
Dan

Welcome aboard Dan. It's certainly not Tumeric. Almond would be correct for the year of the car but it does look a bit pale in those pics to me. It looks very close to a NZ colour called 'Sweet cream.' Have a good look for signs of a respray, it's quite likely that it has been redone at some point and almond is not the most popular colour...

Dan,

Almond would be right, but I wonder if the pictures are a bit skewed? As you have the brightest green lawn a well as an incredibly bright shade of almond, but the underbonnet shot looks right - so maybe the camera is over brightening things a bit?

The way we found out on my car that it was the 'wrong' colour white was to take the chrome trim off the A pillar, this exposed a large patch of original paint..... Like so!

Still looks a lovely car though.
May I suggest you give that o/s/t Wheeltrim a thump, it looks a bit out of place, I had to chase one of mine down the road because of that a while ago, and it still bears the scars :?

Hi Dan
Welcome to the Forum.

Colour is way lighter than Almond, but very attractive, almost a Primrose Yellow.

Cheers
Nick

Glad you finally managed to get a P6. Welcome to the forum, looks quite tidy from the pics. Looking forward to your thread.

I'd be more worried about what the trim is doing to the valve........ But if that's the only problem then that can't be bad.

Wow appreciate the warm welcome, the pictures are a bit squ-wiff it's more almond like in the flesh, definitely had a respray 4 years ago and never used since, so giving it a small resto to bring her to a very smart road legal p6..

If anyone has a Haynes manual they could sell me for this that would great..

Dan

Hi, welcome to the forum, great little project there doesn't look to need too much.
Based on the reg I hope you're going to call it Tiger !!

Hi, a very nice looking car. Almost lemon from the pictures!

Don't bother with a Haynes manual, you can get the real McCoy Rover factory manual just as easily. Have a look on Ebay - if you can't find some, come back on here and I'll look some out for you. As well as the workshop manual also buy the factory spares manual. This gives exploded diagrams of how everything fits together. Very handy!

Chris

Thats great, I will try and find one of them..

It's in average condition, paintwork is OK need to wet flat and polish her up, and she needs some welding, found some filler/fibreglass and some rust, going to fit new outer sills too as they are a little scabby but theres nothing on it I cant sort..

For anyone interested these are my minis;

You've got to love a proper mini. I've only ever owned one, and it never made it to the road (mate gave it to me with serious tin worm and shattered clutch), but I've worked on a few for other mates.

Rather have a P6 though  I suspect it's my age, and comfort requirement.

Your P6 looks like a terrific project! Quite similar in colour to my own 2000, which is still an unknown colour, having been resprayed by a previous owner. Nice to see another young enthusiast joining the forum too!
