The garage

I managed to get all of the vehicles out of the garage and get them started and went for a spin with all of them. Sparky and Kwakker up and down the industrial estate, which doesn't get salt as we're not important enough :( and the Cresta up and down the car park (It's SORN'd so can't go out on the road).

The Cresta is really difficult to drive , very difficult to get it going, having to slip the clutch a lot and heavy on the steering too. If I drove it every day, I could certainly give up my gym membership . I am starting to think that it's been sat around for a while. I thought the brakes may be binding but I can push it back and forwards with one hand, so must be an engine/gearbox issue.

Sparky does look small in between the Audi and Cresta

Glad you got to exercise the fleet even if only a few hundred yards. Everything here in NJ has a crust of salt now. No rain or snow (just -13°c temps!) so the salt is here for a while. Beryl is staying wrapped up inside until the salt is gone. If I can get some heat into the garage I might brave catching up on some maintenance items plus the upgraded suspension mods if made.

On another corner of the automotive internet where I lurk occasionally, they have a poll named 'Daily, Track, Burn' with three vehicles. This pic would make for an interesting poll I'm sure!

Hmm... difficult one that.

Well the Audi is the Daily, although it's been on a track at Santa Pod, for a giggle

I could use Sparky as a daily, but don't like taking him out in the wet, snow or even salty roads, so that probably won't happen. I would like to take him round a track for the day, but wouldn't push him to the limit.

The Cresta needs a rebuild, no question about that.

I was thinking about selling the Kwakker, but after riding him for a mile or so yesterday, there's no way I'm parting with that :D

Nothing doing here, too salty.
Had a look under the Audi during the week and it was sweaty and beaded with moisture, the Cobra has a bloom on it :(

Sparky was way ahead in its time. I always wondered why they didn't make them the size of the Cresta. Boom!!

I like the look of the Cresta. More pictures please?

Have you thought about electric power steering for it?

I have never seen a lunar grey "in flesh", but i must admit it looks splendid in this photo. Especially next to the drab Audi.

I am looking for a power steering set up, but am not that knowledgeable with these cars, so the only donor I am aware of to get most of the parts, would be a Viscount.

If you mean a fully electric set up, I wouldn't know where to start:hmm:, and tbh I think the car needs a good service, it's not supposed to be like that.

Not quite sure what 'Brad' means, but here's a couple more pics

Me neither, all i wanted to type was drab! :hmm:
Anyway, it does look a rather different hue in these 2 last photos, i suppose light and contrast make things look different.

Speak with Johan from the Dutch club - via email or facebook. He has a setup using a Corsa electric motor (I believe) on his P6 2000, which mounts under the dash tray. Looking at other electric setups, they seem to be using electric motors mounted to the steering shaft as an assist-type.
