That time has come where my old girl has to go. She's a 1973 2000 TC in Davos White with black leather. I'm asking for £2000 ono She is still my daily driver and has never let me down. Innthenlast 3 months she has had a new clutch slave cylinder, sillicone HT leads, plugs, filters etc. Brand new tyres all round, thermostat with housing, inlet and manifold gaskets, new sills and headlights. She has had a full service every 6 months with new grease and oils etc new gaitor on the de-dion axle. Tuned on a rolling road every 6 months. But as I said she is used every day hence the services. New side plates on the block, timing chains and recent new heater. The interior is in great condition with no rips on the leather. The passenger seat has recently been recovered but there is some slight wear on the drivers bolster. Brand new carpet throughout with underlay sound deadening. The body work is great with just a few small patches coming through on the front wings but behind is solid. Apart from that and a small car park dint on the bottom of the nearside rear wing she's very good. 1800 ONOshe needs to go.. Just bought a brand new red rotor arm and full ignition components all fitted. Paint is very good beautiful shine for a White car.

It certainly is, especially as it seems to require work. Two rather mundane photos of an unwashed car is not very inspiring either.

A rather ambitious vendor, l'm thinking.

hi Chris 001,
in reading your post you mention that the gaiter on the de-dion axle had been replaced! how did you manage that without removing the axle , cutting the universal joint off and sliding the gator over the shaft?
Peter

The de-dion boot is not a CV boot or UJ boot. You can just unbolt the tube, and drop it out, rebuild it then put it back in. OK, a bit more difficult than that, but you can leave the diff and driveshafts where they are.

Saw this when it hit ebay, as it's on an XC plate. However, this was not a factory registered car.

It also looks like a mess - look above the boot badges at the condition of the paintwork. It's not a £6500 car. It's probably a £2k car.

I became a bit mixed up and was thinking at the time of the dust boots/gaiters on the drive shafts at the wheel end, but thank you for the info on the de Dion gaiter, useful for the future...

De dion gaiter most likely, which can be fitted by just undoing the ring of bolts next to it. If it was the one on the driveshaft (which can be removed without removing the diff, or anything else) they can be stretched over the uj if they are pliable enough and the outer yoke is removed.

Regarding the yoke dust cover Harvey6 :- I inquired at Wins and they say that they have been unobtainable for many years! Has anyone else come across them in their travels?
