The cars a star for a day

Interesting thanks :!: Will look forward to seeing the footage this autumn. Expensively produced Sweeney style chase through East End?

According to the DVLA, the 3500 reg DVW 216G in the pic's is a Taxed and Tested blue S1 V8. The one in the pic's looks like a reasonably tidy S2. The only other "wrong" thing I can spot on the car is that the rear over-riders are upside down? Although it will be good to see the car chase, I do have a bad feeling about what might happen the car at the end of the scene?

 Dave, I can recall that upside down under-riders or over-riders fitted where there should be under-riders fitted right way up (or is that down?) might annoy you  . I'm all confused now :?

Hi, they have either bought a car to do what they want with or they have hired a car
in and made up a reg and have alighted on a legit reg plate. But thanks to the power
of the internet I just put in the reg number and found this :-

Good find Colin. The 2006 owner of DVW 216G in 2006 says it was
Reg DVW 216G, white with huntsman roof.
.
This makes me more curious:-

DVW 216G started off life as a blue 1969 S1 V8 auto (would a blue '69 car have had a Huntsman vinyl roof - it seems like an unusual combination?). In 2006 it was a white "S2" "3500S" with Huntsman roof and now the BBC or production company just happened to have popped this 1969 reg. plate onto a red car that's looks to be a post 1970 V8 auto.

I wonder if, for the production, they bought/hired more than one P6 including T&T'd DVW 216G to cobble together a car that they thought looked right?

Even the choice of a P6 for a modern day scene in a soap opera seems odd? Maybe there trying to recapture something from "Lock Stock....". Maybe just need to watch Eastenders this autumn for all to be revealed. Heaven forbid, I am depressed enough without doing that  .

The Mail are getting into the 'Sweeny' spirit by calling it a motor (should that be 'motah'?). I guess they think that no-one has a clue what it is, even if they say it's a Rover.

Any one who watch's Eastenders Wont care if the rear bumper over riders are upside down/front ones or made of custard---they wont care what the car is either
If anything-could give people the idea that old cars are dangerous ---Rubbish program for sad people I think

In today's The Sun newspaper they have a photo of the P6 with the front end stuffed and Phil through the windscreen.

Another one bites the dust. Couldn't they have used some old Ford, Jag or BMW instead?

Maybe they will rebuild it, ok I know I am unrealistically hopeful however the article did say a million pound budget for the scene shot, maybe a fraction of the budget was put aside for the restoration ( )

If he's gone through the screen where's all the glass then?

It unbolts; so I phoned them and asked if I could buy it because my car had an advisory on the MOT as the windscreen has a crack in it :)

Well, they weren't going to use it!

Richard

So he's thrown through the (previously removed) windscreen, clean out on to the bonnet, but they still have to cut the roof off.

What a load of old b*ll*cks.

Spending £1mill on an Eastenders episode is just typical of the BBC p*ssing money up the wall . I won't be watching even if they gave me the money

And in all the pictures he is wearing a seat-belt so how did he manage to fly through the windscreen anyway???

I also won't be waiting and watching just to find the answer:- I have much better things to do with my time :D
