Su carbs and firetrap

I have finally gotten the engine all together and running again (haven't gotten the carbs tuned yet) but I noticed my engine dosent have flame traps on it and I'm having a hard time finding somewhere in NZ that sells them
Will I be ok to drive the car for awhile without flame traps? Or am I likely to destroy the engine again and does anyone from nz know a place to get flame traps? I haven't been able to phone around much today since it's the weekend but I couldn't find any websites or anything thanks in advance
 
I have a couple you can have. I just clean mine out with petrol every service, so basically never wear out.
