Afternoon everyone,

I am in need of a steering idler for my 1973 3500s. Can anyone help me out?

Many thanks

Jamie

The come up NOS every so often, the alternative is fitting a bronze bush. This is done with a channel for lubrication and the result is BETTER than the original which is just machined into the casing with no bush.

Thanks for the info Peter - with the car being my daily I was planning on getting a spare that I can get machined (if required) or if it was in good enough condition it could be fitted whilst I get my original unit sorted out.

So does anyone have one lying about?

Cheers

Jamie

I just have to find the box they are in....do check that the four bolts holding yours onto the bracket are tight and the three holding the bracket to the body are also tight as the symptoms are much the same as a worn bushing. I'm assuming your car is RHD?

Thanks Mike, yes have checked all the bolts and unfortunately all are tight :( I put the wear down to the state of the roads over here and the fact that there are speed humps everywhere!

Car is a right hand drive as you say.

Thanks again

Jamie

I managed to find the box on the weekend and have what I think is a new one. I'll try to get a price from the post office tomorrow, where are you located?
