Speedo cable for LT77

In this area now.....The conversion notes I have (same as linked here) says to re-route the original cable to get it to reach the box. The Penguin video says nothing about re-routing, just that they add a right angle drive (homemade) at the box.
Does anybody have any experience of length problems in this area please? I have an SD1 cable to steal the box end alloy part from so it fits the LT box. Is an SD1 cable longer than the P6B unit?
thanks

When I converted my 3500S to LT77 I used the original 3500S cable (inner and outer), I just had to drill out the gearbox end of the outer cable to accept the slightly bigger LT77 driven gear diameter, and modify the clamp to hold it.

You can use a V8 auto one. Cut the gearbox end large flange off and it fits the LT77. The other end fits the speedo already.

The cable loops quite a bit under the steering column. There is plenty of slack there to use.

I was advised this option from Geoff at Wins.

Noted elsewhere - found a local shop (~ 1km away!) who can modify/make speedo cable to fit SD1 flange at box end , P6 fitting top end, slightly longer for A$85. Winner!
For those in Oz, look up Retro Spares.

While here.....does anybody know for sure which speedo driving gear (on the output shaft inside the rear cover), and driven gear (on the removable cable adapter) were std in an SD1 please? Apparently there are at least 2 driving gears(TKC1273 and 4) and multiple driven gears of different colour and teeth counts. My new LT77 is driving the speedo well undo real speed, and since the box is ex-TR8 I suspect the driving gear is not correct - I believe the black gear is 4 teeth, and reading says the white gear has 6 teeth, which might correct my problem..... as long as I can change it without dropping the box ! Pretty sure Ifitted a red 20 tooth driven gear on the cable adaptor.
