I may have a spare pair, l can't quite recall. I'll check at the weekend.
Failing that, l'll be swapping Bruiser's for a pair of Hif6's in the near future if you were still in need.

Thanks for this information,

I am not in a hurry, i do a 4.6 conversion over the winter and roveralex -who also did one- suggested to go the HS8 way.

best regards
Simon

I have several spare sets, still on their TC manifolds. I'll dig out the healthiest looking set if you still need them. You'd better assume they need a rebuild though as they won't have been run for a few years.

Please send me a pic via PN, and the price (including shipping to Austria) you are calling.
I have no problem doing a rebuild as long as it is still economical

best regards
Simon

Do the float chambers on those pivot in order to stay upright ? if they don't is this an issue when fitting to a V8 manifold ?

Hello Simon,

Looking at the photos of Rover Alex's Rover with the 2" carburettors fitted, there is not going to be clearance for the snout on the air canister to fit between them. If you want to use the same air canister as on my Rover, you won't be able to fit the bigger SU carburettors.

OK I've been fiddling with a spare pair. All that's preventing you rotating the float chamber to a different angle is adapter AUD2063 as shown here:
SU Fuel Pumps
It is notched to keep the float chamber vertical in applications like the 2000TC. Different adapters presumably give you different angles. Or you could just use simple spacers and adjust them to your heart's content.

Simon, if you'd like to PM me with an email address I can send you some photos of these carbs. The photos won't tell you much though, they just look like a pair of carbs that haven't been cleaned for a long while.
More crucially, the pistons are not seized and nothing is missing.
One of the flexible hoses is detached from the bottom of the float chamber and I remember from past experience that they can be a bit fiddly to refit (while on the car anyway).
I'd be happy with 20 GB pounds for the pair plus postage. I haven't removed them from the manifold yet so can't weigh them to get an accurate idea of the postage cost, but 3kg would cost around 14 GB pounds to send.

Cheers for that.

@SydneyRoverP6B
I haven't thought about that to be true.

Maybe i find a way to build something individual that still looks similiar to the original.
Let's try... :)

@Willy Eckerslyke

You got a PN

There is a front on picture in that thread showing what looks like an ample gap for the air cleaner.

With the SD1 air canister, there is approx. 8mm of clearance either side, between the dashpot and the snout. With the 2" carburettors, the clearance in theory will drop to 1.5mm each side, assuming all is as it should be.
