Series 2 gearbox into a series 1 2000tc

What is involved if a series one gearbox is replaced with a series two gearbox

You just need to remove the gearlever, it's mounting plate and steady bar, and replace with the Series 2 remote and gearlever. Make sure that the release bearing sleeves are the same on both boxes, if not change them, or change the pressure plate.

Offhand I think that's it.

I have heard that mods are required to the tunnel fixings

I have a spare box which is a series2. I need to rebush the selector shaft and also replace the rubbears that mount the remote housing to the top of the box
