Hi, Notice of dispersal of my dads collection of classics. We are looking to hold a weekend event to clear his home of cars and spare patrs that he has collected over a number of years. These include, Austin 7 (dry stored by us for 36 years), no.3 rover p6, p5b saloon, riley elf, austin j4, triumph 2000 estate, a40, a30, sherpa mini bus(interior stripped), jcb digger (in pieces) Dumper truck, Austin 1300 (whats left of it), hornet (not much left of it) vauxhall astra estate(not by any stretch of the imagination a classic). Castleton touring caravan. All of these cars do require restoration in one form or another and we will be open to realistic offers. I would be greatful if you could let me know your intrest so we can guage numbers. The sale will be held near Sherborne, Dorset, and is planned for the begining of May possibly on the 15th/16th. I can email pictures if required.

What do you mean by 'early'? It looks like a '72-'73 except for the rear windscreen which is from a pre '70.

I'd post some pics of the others too :) People are into allsorts here, not just P6s
Good luck with the sales :)

Thanks for advise have put a couple more piccys on.

:)
Could be a genuine S1 that has been repaneled with S2,even down to the 1/4's and sunroof roof
Forgot to ask where the battery is ??

Battery is in the boot
Therefore this car is not a 1968/9 'G' reg car,it is a series 2, 2000 from 1971 onwards.
Also, its possible that there is a V8 under the bonnet, and its been rebodied with a newer S2,2000's panels!!
A pic of the dash and under the bonnet will help, also the location of the,and type of chassis numbers on the inner wings.
Now its possible that the reg number is a private transfer,so it will need further investigation before it can be sold as a restoration project,as its true identity is suspect!
As a car for breaking, the V5 should be sent to the DVLA stating scrapped!

my mistake, the battery in the boot is one for the castleton (caravan) and has been retro fitted for charging purposes. The car battery is up front and this is not a dubeous model, it is a genuine 1968 model 2000 sc. It has been in the family for as long as i can remember and in daily use since dad restored it back in 1979/1981, until the steering became too heavy for mum to handle, and there it has been stored up. The car is also as solid as they come and will take very little top bring back to forma glory.

From the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry website for the yellow 2000SC:-

The vehicle details for RDP 825G are:

Date of Liability, 01 05 2010
Date of First Registration, 01 07 1969
Year of Manufacture, 1969
Cylinder Capacity (cc), 1978CC
CO2 Emissions, Not Available
Fuel Type, Petrol
Export Marker, Not Applicable
Vehicle Status, SORN Not Due
Vehicle Colour, YELLOW

Nothing fishy about it, just restored with later panels it would seem.

Good luck with your sale mate.

Now he has clarified that the battery is up front I can agree!
I see it has S2 seats fitted as well!!
It doesn't take much wrong info to throw a bit of doubt on a car does it!!
Is it a strip speedo type dash or a round dial??
It should be a strip type, unless dad fitted a round dial back in 79/81!
