SD1 wheel nuts

Hello all,

Does any one happen to have a photo of the SD1 wheel nut as used on the R14 steel wheels with wheel trims. (eg 1984 SD1 2300 trims)

I know it has a shoulder and used with a washer to hold the wheel trims on (spring mounted trims), but the only photo I have is on the Rimmer Bros website and it doesn't look to be the correct spec (I'm probably mistaken here). Nut on the RHS in photo attached.

Long and short is I have SD1 wheel trims (corrected for the tyre valve hole), but would need to source 7/16 UNF thread nuts to suit.
Mr Tee can't help following contact , but in advance of buying an example nut from Rimmers, I thought I'd check with you guys.

I do have 7/16 UNF thread nuts (wider at the base than the P6 wheel nuts), but I am interested in the dimensions of the correct type of nut, to ensure wheel and trim are held on correctly.

Much appreciated,
Simon

If the washer that holds the wheeltrim on is split or will slide over onto the nut, then the only problem would be the distance between the wheel side of that washer, and the wheel itself, because that distance has to accomodate the trim and the spring behind it. Looking at the pic, because of the angle the pic is taken from (not side on) it's more difficult to tell, but at a guess (and as I'm not paying for them) I'd say that they probably would be OK.

You could fit the SD1 studs, and then the SD1 nuts will go straight on. That's what I did when I fitted my Minilites.

Thanks Harvey - that requires the SD1 studs and the SD1 nuts. The latter (new) are eye wateringly expensive (> £100). I thought alloy wheels were different to steel w.r.t. the nut seating.
Thanks

Harvey, I missed you first reply (I was just looking at the bottom of my screen).
That was my concern, the gap between the trim and the wheel. I thought they might be a sleeve on the nut to make that gap up.
To date I have not offered up the trim to the wheel to check.
Thanks again
