SC Throttle Linkage Wear

Has any one ever had to rebuild this linkage. The shaft has (relatively small) flat spots in it and I assume the fork would also be worn. My question is how best to reshaft the pivot point once you have reclaimed (welded up) the parts?

How much clearance should there be between these fork and the shaft?

It's just built in lost motion, and if it wears a bit it won't make any noticeable difference to the function of it. The throttle opening and kickdown cable movement will still move in sync, you will just have a little more free movement at the pedal before things start moving, and as long as you're still getting full throttle that won't matter. (well it wouldn't to me anyway....)

Thanks Harvey, you are probably right, the kick down works fine. I'm just getting a bit fussy now the car's well set up. It does make a small clicking noise every now and again (that's what alerted me to the wear)
