Salvage Hunters - Classic Cars - Rover 2200SC

I know someone who paid nearly £500 for a factory electric roof. Never seen another one.

I've got the prototype one in the garage.. and a generic manual sliding roof in the shed.

I've seen a couple over the years. Clive has a restored one in Derby..

Its actually quite depressing to think of all the tasty options which could easily have been removed from cars that ended up in the crusher.

The factory roof is the only one that looks right (excluding the larger webasto type) . I've seen some bathroom sealant horrors in my time as they realize too late just how domed the roof actually is and how a Halfords generic glass roof won't fit.

I charged more than that in real life, as said in my previous post.
They like to look like they get blinding deals everywhere they go, or their figures look even worse ;)

What, they falsified their accounts?
I've got even less respect for the programme now.

^^^^^
Exactly my thoughts when I read that yesterday.
Why cant a TV company just make honest programme's and stop insulting everyone's intelligence ?

Not considering the amount of work and effort that has been put into it by the current owner.
Unfortunately i doubt the owner will see much of that money back not at that price not being original and being only an SC. Why spend as you say that much work and effort on the car only to go and sell it it makes no sense what would make sense would be for the owner to keep it i would have thought just my penneth worth;)

Hi, Some people get enjoyment out of just rebuilding or restoring cars or things, they don't do it for the money. The other thing is people keep saying it's only an SC like they are not worthy. Although I prefer the V8s I acknowledge that the 4 pots are part of the heritage of the model. In fact they are the start of it.

Colin keep your hair on it was not a jibe at the SC model just a fact that the other models are more desirable moneywise I agree a lot of people do like restoring cars not just for money but for pleasure. I have lost loads of money over the years on restoring old cars but have enjoyed restoring them..

Hi, Yeah, sorry about that, it was not aimed at you specifically. I was trying to do a job and it kept going wrong so I walked away and ended up going round some of the forums to calm down. look at how that turned out.:(
