Hi guys,

Just wanted to inform you all that i heard today that Pilkie passed away today peacefully in his sleep. His brother has posted under his account on facebook so I'll be sure to pass on anything i hear. Dave really loved the forum and although he didnt come here much once he'd sold his P6, he did make a large donation to it's upkeep a while back, i think knowing what was coming.

Sad, sad news, I'm sure everyone will agree.

Rest In peace.

He was special. I met Dave when home for a while in 2009 I think it was. Was home because of my Mum being ill for about a month. As I had spare time I met up with Dave, Brian Humphreys and Kevin Watkiss down at a show at the National Motor Museum. I remember being amazed at his ability to get a deal from a stall holder that I had totally failed to get a penny off of half an hour earlier! He was always ready to lend advice when I got stuck with my cars, but I know I was by no means alone in that. In addition to his love of old cars he was a fellow cat person. He lost his companion Casper cat earlier this year. Casper was a big ginger tom cat that featured in most of his facebook photos of work going on with the cars. I would expect Casper to be waiting for Pilkie now where ever he is. I wish his family and close friends the best.

Sad, sad news. I never met him but I have seen a lot of pictures of his green series 1

Stunning car and I get the impression from what I have seen that he was a proper gent

RIP

Very sorry to hear about Dave. I never met him, but had had contact with him on the facebook page. My thoughts and best wishes go out to his family. You'll be missed, Dave. Rest in Peace. :'(

That is very sad news - such a shame he never got to take his trip to NZ. His contributions will be missed.

Met him last year at all rover show at quainton had a good chat and laughs even though he was far from feeling great.
Very sad news
RIP pilkie.

I unfortunately never met Pilkie, but he was certainly a great character on here! He will be sadly missed & my thoughts are with his family.

Sad to hear that Dave Pilkie has died . He mentored me on quite a few P6 problems I had . Shame the trip to NZ to see his mum never came for him . There was a number of P6 freeks down here ready to convoy him to Waipu when he arrived .
RIP my friend
Gerald

We met Dave recently when we travelled over to Bristol to collect a few parts from him. He was hoping for a return to some sort of activity even if not as mobile as he once was.
A great shame it never happened for him. RIP Pilkie.
