S2 Waist Trim Fixing - or not

Hello

I have some new black clips for fixing my side strips back on - eventually - and the first door that I did is terrible. The trim piece rattles around and slides about, and it appears like the clips are rather small. If you went over a bump too vigorously it might even fall off. I actually bought two sets of clips because the first set just looked too small. Is there some magic that I am missing here? I have attached a pic of one of the clips in the trim showing the substantial daylight between the metal and plastic.

Anyone recommend some that might actually work?

Thanks
Adrian

They do indeed LOOK like the correct clips...but I suspect they are not....that gap should not be there
They should provide a snug fit so that you actually slide the trim over each successive clip.
I'd have double check with the supplier.

Hi, no, you don't slide the trims on. You hook the trim onto the 2 legs and snap it onto the single
with either your thumb or the heel of your palm. They are the right type of clip, are they an
American equivalent with a British trim or vice versa.

Well, this turns out to be more related to my fear of scraping my expensive new paint job than clip inadequacy. Having another go at it after hammering (ugh) in the little retaining poles, it seems I have it solved. The clips were simply not firmly enough secured to clamp the strip onto the door.

I second that. Sliding them on would almost certainly result in scratched paint.
