Rover SD1 alloys (Vanden Plas)

Good luck getting nuts for these on a P6. These wheels are hub centered, NOT nut centered. The fronts can centre on the hub with a little work, but there is nothing at the rear to do this. Wheel nuts for Lexus alloys should fit, but I had to do some lathe work to get there.

Good point - the correct spec nuts are already sourced from Mr Tee (here in the UK). The new nuts are a snug fit and included in the sale.

When I did mine Mr Tee seemed to be out of stock......The nuts I got from USA were crap - threads not concentric with the shank - visible to the naked eye!

When purchased a couple of years ago, I took the last of his then current stock. Sadly I hear he is no longer trading.

When I fitted my Vitesse 15 inch alloys I got my nuts ready to go from Steve at Speedshack London - they are US made and came ready to fit to P6 - re they are made specifically for these wheels to go directly on to P6 studs. I had to use SD1 front hub grease caps - though initially I followed advise I found on here and simply cut down the P6 hub grease caps to get rid of the flange and this worked ok no issues just as was stated- just a bit Heath Robinson to put angle grinder to the grease caps! SD1 ones fitted well and no issues since. I got a set of Rimmer Bros supplied centre caps - not cheap but fit ok though only just on front as the grease caps do protrude out a bit. I wish I had gone for 195 not 205 size though. Had to ‘adjust’ rear D post a little to provide clearance

Link to Speedshack - sorry just noted these are not Vitesse 15 inch alloys so may not use exactly same nut? I believe the SD1 nuts don’t fit as different thread on studs.

I believe the 15" SD1 Vitesse wheels use the same nut as the 14" SD1 ones. When I fitted mine, is just used some SD1 studs (M12) and they are still on there now with no issues.

Ok a few teething issue - ET phone home

Yes I heard of a few people that just toon P6 studs out and refitted with SD1 studs. Speedshack wheel nuts saved any this hassle - yes your right I re read the Speedshack ad and these nuts do all SD1 alloys on to the P6.
Had mine on 3 or so years now on and off a few times for maintenance etc and no issues nuts not fallen to bits!

Thanks Dave for the comments. If I was a trader, I'd declare I was robbing myself with that price. However, I'm not seeing any punters.
Mr Task can vouch for them, he may still have a photo available of these wheels on his former P6 ;)
