Rover P6 renewing project after 42 years barn live.

The long brake pushrod should fit - remove the circlip and washer, pushrod from new cylinder, fit washer to long pushrod (might need nut removed), fit to new cylinder with circlip. The thread should be 5/16 UNF.

The pushrod is oke, the washer is not, the old one do not fit,, I do use the new one with the original pushrod, need a machine to make it 0.67mm bigger for slip it over the pushrod, will be oke. the rest is the same, also the piston dimension is the same as the old one. break cilinder is modern made, say not original rover.

the master break cilinder is ready for install.

Strange is the cilinder is not closed off with caps in the input/output, normal there is a kind of cap
to keep dirt out.

The seller did not a good job concerning this. the rest is the same, like thread.

I have all parts new, see pic and busy assembling. Only thing I saw was that the
brake pads for front have no wire anymore for detecting the wear, I do not think
this is really needed.

To get rod in pedals is quite a challenge.

I have a question, these big rings, from engine support left and right?

I have remove things and some I can not find in the books, different ways
of assembling things.

The support for breakcilinder and clutch cilinder are also not mention there,
do not now it are normal bold or stud bold. I have one thick ring, also
not remember where anymore, most I do remember so things fall together
automatically.

regards

The brake cylinder bolts direct to firewall (RHD), on LHD to a mounting plate 570247 and 548058 with 2 bolts. brake master is at odd angle upwards on 578899 - parts book P12-71.
