Rocker Baffle plates

I need some clarification on installing the rocker baffle plates.

I know that if set the rocker assembly on the work bench with the valve end of the rocker toward me, and the push rod end of the rocker away from me, that one of the baffle plates belongs on the left end of the assembly.

My first question is, if I set the second assembly the same way, does the second baffle plate also go on the left?

If this was done then one baffle plate will end up toward the front of the engine and the other will end up toward the rear.

My second question is should the final placement be:

1. both baffle plates toward the front of the engine?
2. both baffle plate toward the rear of the engine?
3. One toward the front and one toward the rear?

The baffle plates go underneath the flametrap pipes in the rocker covers.
